Seven Trojans Named to CSC Track Academic All-District Team

TROY, Ala. – Troy track and field landed seven athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as Jack Anderson, Anthony Symile, Kady Schwietz, Cadi Rowe, Abby Grosinske, Jordan Bailey and Alejandra Gutierrez Fuente were recognized, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Anderson, media journalism major, graduated this past spring with a 3.52 GPA after a strong season competing in the high jump for Troy. His mark of 2.05m at the Tiger Track Classic ranks him 22nd in the South Region. Symile, a criminal justice major, has a 3.58 GPA and has the 14th-best discus throw and 32nd-best shot put throw in the South Region.
On the women's side, Schwietz carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in exercise science and had a strong season that included multiple personal best's and the fourth best score in the heptathlon in program history. Bailey, a business marketing major, finished the spring with a cumulative GPA of 3.62 and was 38th in the South Region this spring in the triple jump. Gutiterrez Fuente registered the fourth-best long jump mark in program history at 5.89m this spring and has 3.93 GPA while majoring in mathematics. Grosinske had a strong indoor season in the shot put, as she cracked the top-50 in the South Region with a 13.46m throw at the Sun Belt Championships.
Rowe is pursuing her masters of kinesiology, and currently has an impressive 3.83 GPA. She cracked the Troy record books this season, as she registered the fastest 10,000m time in program history at the Penn Relays with a time of 35:08.95.
Troy's five women selections were the maximum allowed under the current CSC Academic All-District guidelines. The Academic All-America Teams will be announced on July 9th for the women and July 10th for the men.
