TROY, Ala. – Originated in 2004 to celebrate the national player of the year before flipping into the nation's most outstanding shortstop, the Brooks Wallace Award announced that Troy baseball's Tremayne Cobb Jr. was one of 29 semifinalists and the lone Sun Belt player.
"We are thrilled for Tre to make the semifinalist list for the Brooks Wallace award," head coach Skylar Meade said. "His skills and defensive prowess have improved so much as he has ranked as the first or second best shortstop defensively all season in college baseball. His bat is game-changing, as all Trojans fans know. I'm very proud of Tre; this honor is more than deserved."
