Women's Basketball Closes Out Signing Class with Brianna Jackson
TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball program closes out its 2024-25 roster by signing Oklahoma State transfer Brianna Jackson.
"Brianna is a game changer in many regards," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "Her defensive presence in the paint and her shot-block timing will discourage straight-line drives to the goal. Her offensive presence will command the entire attention of our opponent's biggest, strongest defender."
Born in Barstow, Calif., before ending her high school at Princess Anne in Virginia Beach, Va., Jackson scored over 1,000 points and seized over 1,500 rebounds to lead her school to four 5A Virginia State Championships. She was also tagged the VHSL State Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and USA Today All-Virginia First Team as a junior to earn a four-star rating from ESPNW Hoopgurlz and ProspectsNation.com – ranked 17th for post players and fourth in Virginia.
At 6-3, Jackson began her collegiate career at Miami (2019-21), where she ranked sixth in the ACC for blocks at 1.3 and averaged 4.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in her freshman season. Then, the forward transferred to Old Dominion (2021-23) and played 68 games with 36 starts for 7.3 points her junior year and 6.4 in her senior season – also led the team in rebounding with 193 defensive and 137 offensive boards. Her final destination before Troy was at Oklahoma State, where she played four games on 66.7 percent shooting for 4.0 points per game before maintaining her eligibility.
Jackson becomes the ninth signee for the Trojans, joining Adriana Jones, Fortuna Ngnawo, Jamirica Roberson, Briana Peguero, Ashley Baez, Emani Jenkins, Khila Morris and Emma Imevbore.
