TROY, Ala. – Hagar Ramadan-Amin and Leena Metwally were named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team in doubles, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
"I am proud of Hagar and Leena and what they accomplished during the regular season," head coach Rawia Elsisi said. "They are a tough pairing to play against, and it was impressive to see them remain undefeated throughout conference play."
Ramadan-Amin and Metwally had an impressive showing this spring, going 7-0 in the number three doubles spot. All seven completed matches came against Sun Belt opponents, and the pairing was crucial to Troy's eight-match winning streak to end the regular season. In all eight victories, Troy won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead.
They made their doubles debut together against No. 70 Georgia Southern and continued to play with each other for the remainder of the regular season. Their top wins came against App State (6-4), Southern Miss (6-0) and Texas State (6-3).
The Trojans finished the regular season with a 29-23 record in doubles matches.
Troy is back in action on Friday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Tournament. They will face off against Georgia Southern, Louisiana, or ULM. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+, and a live stats link will be on TroyTrojans.com.
