Round Two of WNIT Sees Trojan Arena Hosting Troy-FIU

TROY, Ala. – Round two is set for Monday, March 25, at 6 p.m. in Trojan Arena as Troy women's basketball opens its postseason run against former conference foe FIU.
"I'm asking that as many Trojans at possible make plans to be in Trojan Arena Monday night," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "We are striving to get the first program win in a postseason tournament. We want, and we need, our fans to join with us Monday night to help us make history."
Monday marks the third time in program history that a WNIT matchup is set in Trojan Arena, with the first seeing Troy face UAB, 93-89, in 2019 and Alabama, 82-79, in 2022. The Trojans' matchup against UAB still stands at the eighth-highest attended game in Trojan Arena for women's basketball.
Despite an early Sun Belt Tournament exit, the Trojans earned a first-round bye after accumulating a 19-11, 15-3 SBC record, where they went on a nine-game win streak through Sun Belt play before ending the year with seven straight. Now, the Trojans must win five games from March 25 to April 3 to be crowned champions.
Their first matchup sees FIU for the first time since 2013 after the Panthers defeated Stetson in round one, 60-47. Troy remains hungry for its first postseason victory in program history.
