TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's basketball game scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22 at Arkansas State has been elevated to ESPNU, the Sun Belt Conference announced on Thursday morning. Tip off is now set for 8 p.m. CT.
The last time Troy played a nationally televised Sun Belt Conference game was Feb. 25, 2022, against Texas State on ESPN2.
It's the Trojan's third national television broadcast of the season after playing on the Pac-12 Network against Oregon State and the USA Network against Dayton. In two of the last three seasons, Troy has appeared on three nationally televised broadcasts (2021-22).
Sitting tied atop the Sun Belt Standings, the Trojans are in the midst of one of their best seasons in recent memory. Troy opened its conference schedule with a 5-0 record, which was its best conference start since the 2003-04 season. Troy is also the only team in the Sun Belt who has won 10 or more conference games in each of the last three seasons including this year. The impressive play has resulted in Troy being ranked No. 23 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 this week. It's Troy's first time being ranked in the poll this season.
Troy is top 20 nationally in a plethora of categories, including rebounds, steals, bench points, and fastbreak points, all of which have been a key reason for the Trojan's success.
The Trojans are hunting for their first regular-season conference title since the 2008-09 season, all while having the 20th youngest team in the country. Troy's average Division I experience is less than one season, according to KenPom, which ranks Troy as the second-most efficient offensive team in the conference and third-most efficient defensive team.
In addition to the game being broadcast on ESPNU, fans can listen to the game on the Troy Sports Radio Network.
Troy hosts Arkansas State tonight for a 7:30 tip off on ESPN+ before playing its final home game of the season on Saturday at 4 p.m. against ULM.
