TROY, Ala. – Troy women's basketball and Troy athletics are excited to welcome back all former players with the announcement of Letterwinners Day, slated for Feb. 8, in Trojan Arena.
The opponent for the matchup is to be determined as it's marked as the second of two MAC-SBC Challenge games for the women's basketball program. Regardless of the opponent, tipoff is set for 3:33 p.m. in Trojan Arena. Letterwinners will be provided refreshments in Trojan Terrace, where the historical players of Troy will come together in celebration.
"We always look forward to our Troy women's basketball alumni returning to Troy," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "I appreciate each of them that take the time to connect with our current Trojans."
The women's basketball program dates back to 1975-76. Since then, it's accumulated a 708-704 record. After entering the Division-I level in 1993-94, the Trojans have gone 537-458, including a 231-145 record since Rigby's tenure began in 2012. They've also been crowned champions seven times. Three of the Trojans' titles came in the regular season, while four came in the league tournament to make an NCAA appearance. Their last appearance was in 2021 as the No. 15 seed against Texas A&M.
In the program's history, there have been 275 letterwinners in 49 years. Of the 275, 26 have scored over 1,000 points, with Denise Monroe holding firm as the lone 2,000-point scorer. She ended her career with 2,024.
All returning basketball letterwinners can receive complimentary tickets to the game. They are also invited to sign the Letterwinners Wall located in the basketball offices at Trojan Arena.
Letterwinners are asked to RSVP to Macy Wiederin via email at mwiederin@troy.edu or by phone at 770-630-5650.
Fans wishing to purchase tickets for this game may do so in person by visiting the Troy Ticket Office, online via TroyTrojans.com/Tickets, or by calling the ticket office at 334-670-6341.
