Day Two of Samford Fall Invitational Sees Multiple Trojans Triumph

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Leena Metwally, Hagar Ramadan-Amin, Emilia Namyslo and Gabrielle Leslie all went 2-0 in Saturday's Samford Fall Invitational at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion to continue Troy's dominant performance.
Troy went 2-for-3 in doubles competition as Gabrielle Leslie / Emilia Namyslo avenged their loss yesterday with a 6-3 victory over Central Arkansas. Leena Metwally / Hagar Ramadan-Amin followed suit, making quick work of Central Arkansas' Harune Shigemasu/Nanoka Kazama on a 6-2 win.
Leslie (6-1, 6-2), Namyslo (6-2, 6-2) and Metwally (6-4, 6-0) continued their winning ways as they went into singles play, sweeping the Jacksonville State opposition. Meanwhile, Ramadan-Amin decided her win in the third set after winning her first 6-2 and falling in the second 6-3. The third set was all Ramadan-Amin as she dominated for the 10-5 win. Valeriia Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis fell in doubles competition, but Avdeeva flipped the script in singles with a 6-1, 6-3 victory to push her overall record on the weekend to 2-1.
Sunday wraps up competition for the Samford Fall Invitational as the Trojans kickstart the day at 10 a.m. with doubles, followed by singles at 11 a.m. against Central Arkansas and UAB.
