TROY, Ala. – After a promising end to the regular season at the FSU XC Invitational, the Troy cross country team competes in the Sun Belt Championship meet on Friday, Nov. 1, at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve. The Trojans travel to Foley, Ala., looking to build on their strong showing last month.
"The teams are excited to get to Foley and compete at the Sun Belt Championships this week," head coach Brian Cunningham said. "We are way more fit and dramatically healthier than we were at this time last year, which certainly contributes to the excitement. This will be the first Sun Belt Championship for 9 of the 16 runners we are sending, and while we are young, we're scrappy. I'm really proud of this crew and how they have challenged themselves throughout the summer and fall to get to this meet ready to go. It's going to be a fun day."
The championship competition opens at 8:30 a.m. for the men's 8k, followed by the women's 5k at 9:15 a.m.
