TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team finishes an eight-game fall ball slate at home against Gulf Coast on Friday, Oct. 25. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Troy Softball Complex.
"We played really good and competitive softball [last week] except for one bad inning at Georgia Tech," head coach Eric Newell said. "We can learn from those things and continue to strive. We're just trying to get better throughout the fall, learn our team, and win individual innings."

Week Three Recap
Troy went 2-1 last week against Chipola, Snead and Georgia Tech. Over the week, multiple Trojans got game experience, and the team traveled to Atlanta, Ga., to play against an ACC opponent.
"Overall, I think we played some pretty good softball this past week and won 26 of our 29 innings," Newell said. "We put up 50 runs in those three games and only gave up about 10. Certainly, in each game, there are things to work on and improve upon, and we always strive to do that."
At home against Chipola, the Trojans won 18-1 in 10 innings. Hallie Ueberroth, Sarah Beth Brake and Annie Orman each hit home runs as the offense exploded, tacking on six multi-run innings. Meanwhile, Savannah Money, Alyssa Faircloth, Ally Fleck, Esmee Ames and Mya Holt impressed the pitching staff with scoreless outings.
Game two saw the Trojans dominate Snead 27-4, using a 10-run fourth inning to propel the offense. Eight Trojans posted multi-hit efforts in the 29-hit outburst – Annie Orman, Cassidy Boltz, Dailynn Motes and Megan Loftis each collected three hits. Kate Peters, Faircloth, Fleck and Ames had scoreless outings from the circle, and Ames led the program by striking out four of the six batters she faced. Additionally, Holt struck out three batters in her two innings of work.
On the road against Georgia Tech last Sunday, Troy fell 7-5 in 10 innings. As a team, the Trojans matched Georgia Tech's 11 hits but couldn't overcome a seven-run sixth inning from the Yellow Jackets. Sissy Dunn went 3-for-4 on the day, driving in two runs, while Taylor McKinney and Reese Green also recorded multi-hit games. On the pitching side, Holt shut down Troy's Power Four foe for five innings. The freshman allowed just one hit and two walks, holding Georgia Tech scoreless.
Gulf Coast
Gulf Coast softball finished 40-15 during the 2023-24 season. Although the Lady Commodores lost top hitters, Rachael Lee and Makayla Peters, Kali Austerman and Cailyn Cooke are returning. The pair of sophomores had standout freshman seasons, finishing the year third and fourth on the team in on-base percentage among qualified hitters. Austerman logged a 1.005 OPS in 52 games, while Cooke had a .956 OPS in 55 games at catcher. The Lady Commodores have played over 20 fall ball games in 2024, looking to get experience for a young roster.
