Cross Country Closes Regular Season at FSU XC Invitational

TROY, Ala. – The 2024 regular season ends Friday morning at the Apalachee Regional Park when the Troy cross country team competes in the FSU XC Invitational.
"We are excited to use the amazing Apalachee course as a springboard into our championship season," head coach Brian Cunningham said. "After excellent performances at the Georgia Tech meet last week, we'll look to capitalize on the momentum and come away with more personal bests."
An 8k opens the meet for the men's side at 7:40 a.m. before the women compete in their third 5k of 2024 at 8:20 a.m.

Both sides collected top-10 finishes for the second time in 2024 at the Georgia Tech XC Invitational, with the men securing a sixth-place finish (218) and the women finishing ninth (240).
Lane Watson shined on the men's side, beating his personal best in the 8k (27:04.55) by nearly five seconds for 42nd, set three weeks prior in the Southern Showcase (27:09.55). Meanwhile, Alexiana Hinote continued her reign as the top finisher for the Troy women with a 24th-place finish in the 6k.
Four seconds behind Hinote was Lucy Turley in 27th as both Trojans earned a personal-best in the 6k at 23:14.33 and 23:18.11, respectively. The pair joined Reece Knowlton (24:20.61), Abigail Carr (24:54.17), Abigail Brown (25:00.67) and Aisley McMeen (25:06.40) with personal bests. Additionally, Gavan Baxley shined in Fairburn, erasing 1:30 off his previous season-best at the Southern Showcase at 27:39.30.
