FT. MYERS, Fla. – Troy won five singles matches and took the doubles point for a second straight day to defeat Buffalo, 6-1, to complete a perfect weekend to open the spring portion of its schedule.

Troy (2-0) improved to 16-1 the last two seasons when winning in doubles after Benjamin Ambrosio and Noah Martens won in a tiebreak on court three to clinch the point for the Trojans. The Bulls won decisively on court two, 6-1, to open the day, but Yeray Andres Pastor and Luciano Alcocer tied the courts at 1-all with a tiebreak win on court one.

Pastor gave the Trojans a 2-0 advantage with quick work on court five, yielding just three games over his two-set victory. Carles Anton pulled Troy within a point of clinching the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court two, and for the second straight day, Mario Martinez Serrano put the victory in the books for Troy with a 6-3, 6-3 win on the top court.

Noah Martens and Nicolas Simkin followed with victories on courts four and six, respectively, before the Bulls won their lone court of the match, winning on court three.

Troy opens the home portion of its schedule, hosting AUM in a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 10 a.m.
