Troy Soccer Hosts Marshall for Saturday Night Showdown

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's soccer team welcomes Marshall to the Troy Soccer Complex on Saturday at 5 p.m. for a conference matchup. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on TroyTrojans.com. Admission to all Troy soccer games is free of charge.
Troy (5-5-1, 0-2-1 SBC) is coming off a strong performance against Texas State, where it was able to pick up a point on the road in a 1-1 draw. The Trojans trailed for the first 73 minutes of the match before Dolce Villaflor found the back of the net to level it up at one.
Marshall (5-4-1, 0-3-0 SBC) is coming off of a 2-0 loss to South Alabama last Sunday.
The Numbers
Une Hebnes Georgsen made her third start of the season in goal for the Trojans against Texas State and made four saves on five shots on goal. The Trojan goalkeepers have only allowed more than two goals in one game this season (Auburn, 5).
The Troy back line continues its impressive showing this season, and on Sunday allowed only eight total shots by the Bobcats. Entering the game, Texas State was averaging 15.8 shots per game.
After scoring Sunday's equalizer, Villaflor is now second on the team with goals (3) and points (6). She also has the highest shot-on-goal percentage on the team at 76.9 percent.
The Trojans continue to generate offensive pressure off of corner kicks, as they have taken more than double the number of corners compared to their opponents (84-43). Entering game week, Troy's 84 corners is tied for eighth most in the nation. Troy is also tied for eighth in corner kicks per game at 7.64.

Saturday marks the first time the two teams have faced off against one another. Marshall is in its second season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
Bailey Fisher leads the way for the Thundering Herd this season with three goals and six points – both a team-high. Marshall goalkeepers are giving up 1.20 goals per game and are led by Alexis Woglemuth who is giving up 0.81 goals in nine starts.
