Troy Soccer Opens Regular Season in the Music City

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's soccer team opens its 2023 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 17, against Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn., at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex at 6 p.m.
Thursday night's contest will also mark the first for Stuart Gore as the man in charge of the Troy soccer program.

New Season, New Look
After compiling a 125-25-10 record as a head coach, Gore was tabbed to lead the Trojans into the future as the 10th head coach in the program's history.
As part of his efforts to rebuild the team, Gore brought in 16 new players, including a plethora of freshman and transfers – three of which come with him to Troy from Northwestern State. One of the Northwestern State transfers that will bolster the Trojan midfield is Delaney Wells, who was named to the 2022 Southland Conference All-Conference First Team.
On the coaching staff, Gore brought in Eric Masters as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, while also overseeing the goalkeepers. Assistant coach Kayla Saager returns for her fourth year on the staff.

Troy has one all-time meeting against Lipscomb on Sept. 2, 2009, in Troy. Lipscomb won the matchup 1-0.
The Bisons were selected as the favorites in the ASUN conference in the preseason coaches poll. Forward Kellie Beiler earned a spot on the 2023 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Player to Watch list for Forwards after leading both the team and conference in goals (12) and points (24).
