TROY, Ala. – Biniosa Ezukuse, Javon Osbourne, Cole Stewart and Jaggerd Moore punch their tickets for Troy to the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla., from May 24-27, the NCAA announced Thursday afternoon.
"I am excited for the four going to the first round," Director of track & field / cross country Marc Davis said. It is not easy to make this meet. They will be among the countries' best, which is a remarkable accomplishment. If things go well, we can have advancements to the next round. Excited to see how things play out."
The sole competitor for the women is Ezukuse for the shot put event. She earned her placement as the 36th-ranked thrower at the Crimson Tide Invitational on April 21. The junior wasted no time at the meet, breaking the program record for the second time in 2023 with a mark of 15.65m – previous program record was set at the Samford Challenge (15.34m). Despite a seventh-place finish in the event, Ezukuse has accumulated four podium finishes with a first-place finish at the South Florida Invitational.

Standing at 6-4, Osbourne ranked in the top 48 for the discus and shot put throws. Ranked No. 30 in the East Region, Stewart held his best throw for last when he heaved a 67.44m throw at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship on May 11 for a new personal record. Freshman Moore enters the Division-I scene and immediately makes an impact, being ranked 29th in the high jump. Then, he did it again with another silver medal at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
