Men’s Tennis Drops 4-3 Decision at South Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. – It once again came down to the final court, but Troy came up just short in a 4-3 loss at South Alabama Sunday afternoon at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

The Jaguars (11-7, 4-1) won the doubles points, which proved to be the difference as the teams split the six singles matches. Troy (14-5, 2-3) won on courts two, three and four, and South Alabama won on courts one, five and six to claim the victory.

All three of Troy's Sun Belt losses have come by a 4-3 margin featuring a lineup with three freshmen in it.

Yeray Andres Pastor put Troy on the board with a two-set victory on court three to improve to 12-5 this spring after Mario Martinez Serrano saw his seven-match winning streak on court one come to an end.

South Alabama clinched the match with wins on five and six before Noah Martens won on court four after getting a bump in the lineup on Sunday, while Carles Anton improved to 14-3 with a victory on court two.

Troy hosts Georgia Southern and Georgia State this weekend at the Lunsford Tennis Complex; Saturday's matchup against the Eagles will be Senior Day for the Trojans.
