TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Behind the strength of three top-15 finishes, the Troy men's golf team tied for fourth place at the Seminole Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course.

Jake Springer tied for 10^th place to lead the Trojans while Brantley Scott and Will McFadden tied for 14^th; all three earned a victory over a top-50 individual from Ole Miss in the event.

The Trojans shot 31-over par as a team on a course where the average individual score was 4.12 over par thanks to difficult conditions on Tuesday that pushed final round averages to 77.69 across the field.

No. 8 Florida State won the team title on their home course, shooting 14-under par as a team, while the next closest team was North Alabama in second place at 24-over par. No. 24 Ole Miss clipped Troy by four shots while Indiana finished tied with the Trojans.

Troy picked up key head-to-head wins over several teams ranked ahead of it in the national rankings, including Arkansas State, VCU, Florida Gulf Coast and Lipscomb. The Trojans now sit 71-28-3 on the year in head-to-head matchups.

Springer's finish was his best of the season as his card settled at 5-over for the week. He carded a pair of birdies on the day to shoot a 75 in the final round after rounds of 75 and 71 to open play. Scott had the best round of the day for the Trojans as he carded three birdies to climb 21 spots into a tie for 14^th place at 7-over for the week.

McFadden had a colorful card on Tuesday with three birdies mixed in as he shot 5-over to finish tied with Scott overall, while Nicklas Borrmann slid into a tie for 53^rd place after shooting 80 on Tuesday. Will Simpson rounded out the field for Troy, tied for 74^th place.

Troy takes a couple weeks off before heading to the Golfweek / AGT Intercollegiate in Pawleys Island, S.C., on March 27-28.
