Trojans Stay In-State for Two-Match Roadtrip

TROY, Ala. – Troy prepares for one final road trip in the nonconference schedule when it plays back-to-back matches against Alabama A&M and Alabama State.
Tuesday's match against Alabama A&M (4-5) is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Bulldog Tennis Courts before the Trojans (5-1) head to the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex to battle Alabama State (1-6) on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
The Trojans won back-to-back matches to North Alabama and Lipscomb over the weekend by a combined score of 10-1 to continue their best start in recorded history.

Sweep in Lunsford
The Trojans' most recent victory came on Sunday against Lipscomb, 4-0, after the team continued their dominance in doubles with a fifth straight doubles point to open the match, 1-0.
The following three points came quickly for Troy as Valeriia Avdeeva captured her win on court three after her opponent retired following a 6-1 score in the first set, 2-0. Then, Franziska Ahrend set up the clinching point by Kristina Kukaras, 6-4, 6-1, with a 6-1, 6-1 sweep to win the match, 4-0.
Battle with the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are 1-1 at home after beating Tennessee State 6-1 and falling to UAB 7-0. Over the last two matches, A&M has been blanked 14-0 in response to their 3-0 weekend at the SWAC Tennis Pod.
Yana Dhamija and Jasmine Boyd have been on fire in doubles play. On court one, the duo is a combined 3-1. Both players lead the team in singles, with Dhamija holding a team-best 4-5 record, while Boyd is close behind at 3-4.
Moving onto Montgomery
The Lady Hornets have dropped their last two matches to fall to a 1-6 record, including a 1-1 SWAC record, with the sole win coming against Mississippi Valley State, 6-0. Additionally, the Lady Hornets search for their first win at home, going 0-4 before Wednesday.
Sahra Bouchaala is the face of Alabama State at a 5-1 record in singles play on court two – lone loss came 6-1, 6-1 against UAB's Adela Wasserbauerova. However, the Lady Hornets struggle out of the gates in doubles, combining for a 2-11 record where four players are winless.
