TROY, Ala. – The final week of the regular season is here, and Troy women's basketball is in a familiar position, playing to win a regular season title. The Trojans enter the final two games of the year tied for first place and in search of their third Sun Belt regular season title in the last four seasons.

Troy (17-10, 12-4) travels to Southern Miss (18-9, 11-5) Wednesday night, not only looking to avenge one of its four Sun Belt losses but assure itself at worst a top-two seed in the Sun Belt Tournament. Additionally, the Trojans can clinch the regular season title with a victory plus a James Madison loss at App State.

The Trojans lead the country in both rebounds per game (51.6) and offensive rebounds per game (22.0) while ranking fourth, averaging 84.4 points per contest. Additionally, the Trojans are ninth with 11.7 steals per game. Troy's rebounding numbers are even more impressive, considering it has 101 more offensive rebounds and 35 more total rebounds than No. 1 South Carolina, which ranks second in both categories.

It will be strength against strength Wednesday night, with the Golden Eagles entering the contest third in the league holding opponents to 59.4 points overall and second in league games with 58.4 points per game; the Trojans average 86.1 points per game in Sun Belt play.

Makayia Hallmon leads a quartet of Trojans averaging double-figures as she nets an average of 14.3 points per game, while Nia Daniel is averaging 13.2 per contest. Additionally, Ja'Mia Hollings leads the Trojans averaging 8.5 rebounds per game to go along with 13.0 points per game.

In the first meeting, Troy led by seven with just under five minutes to play in the game before Southern Miss scored 10 of the final 11 points to escape with a 2-point victory in the conference opener on Dec. 29.

Following Wednesday's game, Troy closes out the regular season on Friday at South Alabama.
