Men’s Tennis Wins Ninth Straight, Downs Jacksonville State

TROY, Ala. – Troy's men's tennis team ran its win streak to nine straight matches after a 6-1 victory over rival Jacksonville State on Saturday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
The Trojans (9-1) jumped to the early advantage after taking the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. Vito Llinares and Noah Martens rolled to a 6-0 win on court two, while Francisco Erramuspe and Mario Martinez Serrano clinched the point with a 7-5 win on court three.
Yeray Andres Pastor gave the Trojans a 2-0 lead with his sixth win of the spring as he cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win on court three. Carles Anton pulled Troy within a point of victory with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court two to improve to 7-1 this spring, and Llinares clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-3 win on court six, his sixth straight win.
Vanja Dobrnjac picked up Jacksonville State's (5-5) only point of the match on court four before Erramuspe won by retirement on court five and Martinez won his ninth straight, 6-4, 6-3, on court one.
Troy travels to East Tennessee State next Friday looking to push its win streak to double-digits.
