Men's Tennis Hosts Nicholls State Sunday

TROY, Ala. –The Troy men's tennis team looks to continue its hot start when it plays host to Nicholls State Sunday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex; first serve is set for 11 a.m.
Troy (7-1) has won its last seven matches of the season, including a 5-2 victory over Alabama State earlier this week, for its best start to a season since the 2021 club opened the year 16-1.
Freshman Mario Martinez Serrano enters the matchup with Nicholls (2-3) having won seven straight matches and nine of his last 10, playing primarily on court one (6-1). Martinez and Carles Anton have combined to post a 12-2 mark on the top two courts this spring.
Noah Martens has won all three of his matches since his late start to the spring, and Vito Llinares is 5-1 so far this spring. The return of Martens has lengthened head coach Rolando Vargas' already deep lineup that also features Francisco Erramuspe (4-2), Yeray Andres Pastor (5-3) and Jules Fabre (3-4).
Troy has been strong in singles with a 72.7 winning percentage so far this spring, while the Trojans have a 63.6 winning percentage in doubles.
