Troy Men’s Golf Signs Pair

TROY, Ala. – Troy men's golf head coach Clay Bounds announced Wednesday the addition of Grant Yerger and Pierce Becker to the Troy program beginning with the 2024-25 athletic season after the pair signed National Letters of Intent on the first day of the early signing period.

Helped lead Vestavia Hills High School to three Alabama 7A state titles … Tied for sixth place at the 2023 Alabama 7A state finales individually, shooting 1-over … Won the 2023 SJGT Mossy Oak event, shooting a 66 … A trio of second place finishes in 2021 at SJGT (Huntsville Junior Classic, Lee Hodges Classic and Wynlake Junior Classic) … Finished eighth at the 2021 Allstate Sugar Bowl Tommy Moore Memorial … Won the 2023 JGA Tour Final played in November

Clay Bounds on Pierce Becker
"Pierce is a talented player from Birmingham. He's a member of the Vestavia Hills High School golf team and has helped them win three state championships in a row. I'm glad to keep Pierce in state. His game has been really good recently, and he has all the physical attributes to take his game to the next level here at Troy. I'm excited to see Pierce bring his hard work and talents to Troy. Helped lead Westlake High School to three Texas 6A state championships … The Chaps won the 2022 title by 23 strokes after shooting a state-record 11-under as a team … Ranked No. 164 in the AJGA Rolex Class of 2024 and 387 overall … In WAGR events, turned in a trio of top 10 finishes and won one event … San Francisco City Championship Stroke Play Medalist and the 2019 Texas Golf Association Legends Junior Tour Player of the Year ... Turned in multiple AJGA top ten finishes and multiple junior golf wins, including a three-time Jacke Burke Cup champion … Two-time team captain
