Trojans Matchup with ULM for Conference Showdown

MONROE, La. – Troy baseball will look to end a three-game slide this weekend as they continue their Louisiana road trip in Monroe and take on the University of Louisiana-Monroe for a three-game series beginning on Friday, April 8 at 6 p.m.
The two programs will meet for the first time in three years, with the last coming in May 2019. Troy is 8-1 overall in their previous nine meetings and holds a 28-13 all-time record over the Warhawks, including 12-6 on the road.

Garrett Gainous will return to the mound for the Trojans after missing his last start as a precaution due to dealing with a bit of an injury. Gainous enters the matchup with a 3.72 ERA in 29 innings pitched. His 37 strikeouts lead the team as the Trojan pitching staff continues to have the highest strikeout per nine innings averaging 10.2 strikeouts per game.
Kyle Mock is swinging a hot bat since being inserted into the starting lineup in the finale against UTA. His .350 batting average is second on the team in that time frame, with seven hits, two home runs, and five runs batted in.
