TROY, Ala.- Hagar Amin tops off her perfect 4-0 performance this past weekend against Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State, winning her first Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
"Congratulations to Hagar on a great performance and closing regular season with four solid wins in both singles and doubles play," head coach Rawia Elsisi said.
Amin propelled Troy in its 1-1 weekend split, partnering with Michelle Ncube in doubles for the first time this season. The two proved to be a lethal duo, defeating the Chanticleers, 6-2, to clinch the match's first point.
The Egyptian native followed it up, completing her singles match with a swift 6-1, 6-2 victory over Paola Landin Lopez to give Troy the 2-0 lead.
Against App State, Amin walked away victorious in doubles with a 6-2 victory alongside Ncube.
The Trojans were up 3-0 as Amin clinched the 4-0 sweep over the Mountaineers, winning straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
The freshman provides Troy women's tennis with its first SBC weekly accolade since Chunxi Guo in 2019.
Troy returns to action in two weeks with the Sun Belt Conference tournament on April 21 as the Trojans await their next opponent, which is to be determined.
