Koranga Named World Exposure Report Junior College Transfer of the Year Finalist

TROY, Ala. – After coming to Troy out of Tyler Junior College prior to the 2020-21 season, Felmas Koranga has been named a World Exposure Report NCAA D1 Junior College Transfer of the Year Finalist, the organization announced Wednesday.

"Felmas is the ultimate example of what a junior college transfer can become," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "She has helped us win back-to-back championships, earned the team's highest GPA, graduated with her bachelor's degree and has completely elevated our team culture."

Koranga, who spent the last two seasons with the Trojans, adds World Exposure Report Junior College Transfer of the Year Finalist to her long list of accolades.

In her time at Troy, Koranga has led the Trojans to the 2021-22 Sun Belt Regular Season Championship, 2020-21 Sun Belt Tournament Championship, a NCAA Tournament appearance and a WNIT appearance.

The Nakuru, Kenya native was dubbed a First Team All-Sun Belt selection this season after leading the league in rebounding, averaging 10.7 boards per game, and ranking ninth in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per game.

Koranga was a two-time Sun Belt Player of the Week selection and was also named to the 2021 Sun Belt All-Tournament Team.

During the 2020-21 campaign, the forward made her name known her first season in the league, being named the Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and a Second Team All-Sun Belt selection.

The winner will be announced on Friday, April 15 as a part of the World Exposure Report Awards.
