Trojans Welcome Jacksonville State for In-State Battle

TROY, Ala. – Troy opens a four-game home stint with a showdown with Jacksonville State on Tuesday, April 12, at 6 p.m. The Trojans will look to make it two wins over the Gamecocks this season after defeating them back on March 9, 14-6.
This long-standing rivalry dates back to 1962, with Troy holding an 87-61 overall record against the Gamecocks, including 45-29 when playing within the friendly confines of Riddle-Pace Field.

When these two programs met back in March, seven different Trojans had at least one RBI as Easton Kirk and Jesse Hall led the team with three each. In addition, all nine Trojan starters had at least one hit in the game as Troy put up 10 runs in the third inning to get the win.
The Trojans are coming off a sweep of ULM, which saw Troy win their first extra-inning game of the season 13-10, and Noah Janney earned his first career win in the finale.
Troy's bats will look to remain hot after a road trip that saw them hit .305 as a team with seven home runs and 32 runs batted in. Kirk is one of those Trojans with the hot bat lately for the Trojans, going 8-15 (.533) with two home runs over the last four games.
