WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Troy maintained its standing on the leaderboard following Sunday's final round of the Boilermaker Invitational at the windy Ackerman-Allen Golf Course as the Trojans took home a sixth-place finish among the field of 14 teams.

Kyle Cornelius blistered the course with five birdies on the day as he shot a 1-under 70 to climb 14 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 20^th place to lead the Trojans. He raced out to 3-under par after seven holes, made the turn at 2-under before he finished with his fourth under-par round of the season.

No. 21 Illinois and No. 31 Purdue proved to be the class of the event finishing as the only two teams to finish under par; the Fighting Illini won at 10-under with the Boilermakers taking home second at 2-under. Eastern Illinois (+25), Illinois State (+26), Rutgers (+26) and Troy (+32) rounded out the top six.

Brantley Scott turned in his ninth top-25 finish in 10 events this season as the true freshman fired a 3-over 74 on Sunday to move into a tie for 22^nd place at 7-over for the week, while Nicklas Borrmann was two shots behind in 32^nd place after shooting 76 to close out the tournament.

Will McFadden tied for 37^th place after shooting 4-over on the day, while Jake Springer rebounded from a rocky Saturday to shoot 74 on Sunday and finish in 72^nd place.

Next up for the Trojans is their first Sun Belt Championship under head coach Forrest Schultz, which gets underway April 24 at the uber-difficult Mystic Creek Golf Course. Teams will play three rounds of stroke play, with the top four teams moving on to match play.
