Men's Tennis Falls to Coastal

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis dropped its first home match of the season with a 4-3 loss at the hands of Coastal Carolina in Sun Belt Conference action Saturday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (12-9, 0-3 SBC) had won its first five home matches of the season before the narrow setback to Coastal Carolina (9-9, 2-2). The Trojans' three Sun Belt losses on the season have come by a combined four points – two 4-3 decisions and one 4-2 result.
Vito Llinares won his sixth straight singles match to improve to 16-4 on the year with an easy 6-0, 6-4 win on court six, while Carles Anton moved to 16-5 on the year with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court two. Those two victories pulled Troy in front, 2-1, after the Chanticleers won the doubles point with wins on two of the three courts.
The Chants tied the match with a win on court five before Noah Martens pulled the Trojans within a point of victory with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court four, his 14th win in 20 singles matches this spring.
However, Coastal won on court three to tie the match, and Bastien Huon rallied past Pelayo Antuna on court one in three sets to tilt the match in the visitor's favor.
Troy returns home on Thursday to play host to Alabama A&M at 2 p.m.
