Troy Softball Welcomes No. 2 FSU

TROY, Ala. – Troy will welcome No. 2 FSU for an afternoon midweek tilt Wednesday at the Troy Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.

Prior to the game, Troy (18-7, 4-2 Sun Belt) will have two honorary first pitches as the Trojans debut their military appreciation uniforms.

After posting a 2-1 week with wins over NC State and ULM, Leanna Johnson was named the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season. Johnson leads the pitching staff with a 1.40 ERA and 145 strikeouts over 95.0 innings of work.

At the plate, Kelly Horne leads the Trojans, batting .429 with five doubles, seven home runs and 17 RBIs. The junior leads the nation averaging 1.15 walks per game.

SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES:
Florida State (27-2, 7-2 ACC) heads into the midweek tilt having won eight out of nine of its last games.

The Seminole defense leads the country in fielding percentage (0.988) and ranks fifth nationally in ERA (1.34). The Florida State pitching staff led by Kathryn Sandrock, who has recorded 14 wins this season to rank fourth in the NCAA.

At the plate, Devyn Flaherty paces the way, batting at a .353 clip with five doubles, two home runs and 16 RBIs.
