Caldarelli Leads Troy at Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Elizabeth Caldarelli fired a 2-over 74 to lead Troy in Monday's final round of the Bama Beach Bash, and the Trojans finished 10^th as teams played the final 36 holes of the tournament at the Gulf Shores Golf Club.

Caldarelli tied for 32^nd place overall at 16-over par on a course where the average was played to 21-over par for the field of 99 golfers. The Troy senior played a relatively clean round on the difficult course with one birdie and just three bogeys.

Alyssa Mercado, the reigning Sun Belt Golfer of the Week, tied for 43^rd place a pair of shots behind Caldarelli at 18-over par, with a team-high five birdies in the final round and nine over the 54-holes.

Host-South Alabama won the team title by seven shots over Texas State, while Dartmouth was three shots back in third. Troy finished the week 75-over par as a team.

Elisabeth Preus moved up three spots from her day one positioning into a tie for 50^th place following rounds of 78 and 79 on Monday, while ShaeLee Scarberry tied for 63^rd place at 26-over par. Anna Claire Little tied for 63^rd place and Brinson Hall finished 94^th.

The Trojans will take a week off before traveling to the Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Ga., on April 4-5.
