TROY, Ala. – Troy is rolling out the red carpet for fans on Saturday, April 23, with a day full of activities for the whole family culminating with the annual T-Day Spring Game presented by The Vance Law Firm in The Vet at 4 p.m.
Â
Troy opens spring practice Tuesday under first-year head coach Jon Sumrall with 10 starters back on offense and eight on defense, including All-Americans in linebacker Carlton Martial and bandit Javon Solomon.
Â
"T-Day is a huge event in itself, but we wanted to give our fans exciting and engaging experiences that the whole family can enjoy throughout the day," Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. "The excitement surrounding Coach Sumrall and our football program is palpable, and T-Day is going to provide several unique opportunities for our fans to engage with our coaches and student-athletes in a fun and exciting way."
Â
"One of the things that makes Troy University a tremendous place is the fan base is the best in the Sun Belt," Sumrall said. "We need our fans to come and support our current players and show them the passion is there and that the fan base is alive and excited about the hard work our guys are putting in to improve daily. Also, it shows future perspective student-athletes that we're all in, and this place is a Power Five-like environment. We need our fans to show up for T-Day, like they always do, and we need them to continue to that."
