TROY, Ala. – Troy's Evan Crenshaw made program history on Thursday, becoming the first Trojan to earn multiple All-America honors at the FBS level as the junior punter was named to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-America First Team. Crenshaw was named a first team All-American by Sporting News on Wednesday.
The NCAA recognizes All-America teams from the FWAA, Sporting News, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association and Walter Camp when determining consensus status.
With the Sporting News announcement on Wednesday, Crenshaw became the first Trojan to earn first team All-America honors since Leodis McKelvin in 2007. He now becomes the first Trojan with multiple All-America honors in the program's FBS history and first since Lawrence Tynes (AP, Sporting News) did so in Troy's final season at the FCS level in 2000.
A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Crenshaw averaged 45.7 yards per punt during the 2025 season, the second-highest single-season average in program history (on 43 more attempts than the top average of 46.1 yards). He placed 29 of his 68 punts inside the 20-yard line, the most in the nation, and recorded 21 punts of 50 yards or longer.
Crenshaw earned Ray Guy National Punter of the Week honors following his performance at Buffalo. Additionally, he pinned Southern Miss inside the 10-yard line three times and completed a pass on a fake punt in Troy's Sun Belt West-clinching victory and downed a punt at the 12-yard line, setting up a sack and a defensive touchdown in the Trojans' bowl game against Jacksonville State.
