Troy Softball Opens Conference Play at Coastal Carolina; Game Time Altered

TROY, Ala. – The Troy Softball team will open Sun Belt Conference play in a three-game series starting Friday against Coastal Carolina. Due to inclement weather Friday, first pitch from Charles Wade-John Lott Field has been moved to 11:30 a.m.
The Trojans (13-5) will open conference play on the road for the third consecutive season. Troy has also tacked on a Tuesday midweek tilt against NC State on its trip through the Carolinas.
Kelly Horne continues to lead Troy's offensive efforts, batting at a .432 mark with five doubles, four home runs and 13 RBIs. Anslee Finch shined at the plate last weekend after smashing a pair of home runs. The sophomore leads the Trojans with 16 RBIs this season.
Leanna Johnson (8-2) leads the way in the circle of the Trojans after downing No. 22 LSU to open the LSU Invitational last weekend. On the season, the Trojan ace boasts a 1.59 ERA with 94 strikeouts this season.
CHECKING OUT THE CHANTS:
The Chanticleers (9-9) enter the league series after going 2-3 in the Bubly Invitational. Coastal defeated Tennessee State in both matchups, before falling to No. 4 Florida twice and conference foe Georgia State in a non-conference matchup.
In the circle, Kaitlin Beasley-Polko pitched a team-leading 15.1 innings allowing just eight hits, striking out 13 batters. Riley Zana finished the weekend going 6-for-15, recording four runs, three RBIs, two doubles, and two home runs.
