Trojans Head to Birmingham for Sun Belt Indoor Championships

TROY, Ala. – The Troy indoor track & field squad is set to open competition at the 2022 Sun Belt Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The Championship meet will begin Monday at the Birmingham CrossPlex before concluding on Tuesday, Febuary 23.

Last year Troy set a new program record at the 2021 Sun Belt Indoor Championships with a 90-point output at the meet. The Trojans finished in third place at the championships as a team.
Things will get kicked off at 9 a.m. and the Trojans will see multiple athletes in different events. Edita Sklenska will run in the Women's 800m after placing first twice this season with her fastest time clocking in at 2:07:95 at the Carolina Challenge.
Other names to watch for include Naveyh Frost and Maya Kelly who will compete in the women's 60m and 200m dashes. Vennessa Frank will compete in the women 200 and 400m dash.
Biniosa Ezukuse will represent Troy in the women shot put and weight throw events beside Samara Nelson, Leah Kennedy and Abby Grosinke. While freshman Alejandra Gutierrez Fuente will participate in the women triple jump along with Amber Gordon and Camryn Pattus.
Ines Garcia will be running in the women indoor Pentathlon for the Trojans.
