Troy Hits the Road for Match at Southern Miss

TROY, Ala. – After a 1-0 loss to Old Dominion on Thursday, Troy looks to avenge itself on Sunday when the team travels to take on Southern Miss at 1 p.m. at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
Sunday's match pits the Trojans (3-6-2, 1-3-1 SBC) and the Golden Eagles (1-7-2, 1-3-1 SBC) for the first time since 2008, with both tied for fourth in the west division with four points.
So Close, Yet So Far
The score remained silent for the first 34 minutes of the program's first meeting with ODU. Then, Miya Lennon made some noise with the match's first goal to put the Monarchs up 1-0.
The Trojans struggled for the remainder of the first half before coming out in the final 45 with a purpose, letting out three shots and creating three corner kick opportunities in the opening six minutes.
ODU's defense held up for the remainder of the game to silence the Trojans. Ella Owen and Ashley Rainho attempted two hail marys in the final two minutes with no avail, falling 1-0.
