Troy Notches First Place Finish at Huntingdon Invitational

GRADY, Ala. – After the cancellation of the Chanticleer Challenge due to Hurricane Ian, Troy men's and women's Cross Country traveled north. They took part in the Huntingdon 8k/6k Invitational, seeing a first place for both their men's and women's sides.
In the women's 6K, Troy as a team finished in 1:59:10, the only team to finish under two hours combined. The top seven spots were all Trojans as Teanna Cason led the way in first place with a time of 22:57.3 with an average mile of 6:09.4.
Freshman Makenna Calbert saw the first top-five finish of her collegiate career after placing fifth with a time of 25:03.8.
The men saw a first-place finish with all seven runners also finishing in the top 10 as Bennett Brake took home first place with a time of 26:40.7. Junior Mason Bennett was on his heels in second place with a time of 26.50.6
This is the first win for both the men and the women of the season and the best finish since the Azalea City Classic last year. Which saw the women take first place and the men second.
