Trojans Slip One Spot After Round Two at NCAA Invitational

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Despite shooting two strokes better than the first round at the NCAA Invitational in the Bahamas on Saturday morning, the Troy University men's golf team slipped one spot and is in 10th place after 36 holes.
After shooting a 69 in his first round in paradise on Friday, Brantley Scott matched that performance on Saturday morning. He netted eight pars and one birdie on the front nine and was able to work around one bogey with three birdies to finish the day three under. He sits tied for eighth overall after two rounds.
After shooting the worst round on the team in round one, Nicklas Borrmann rebounded to have the second-lowest score on Saturday at the Ocean Club Golf Course. He netted a one-under score through the first nine, and despite recording bogeys on the 10th and 12th holes, he finished his day with three birdies on the back nine to capture a 70 on the day.
Will Simpson continued his first tournament of the season on Saturday with another strong performance. After shooting a 37 through the first nine holes of the course, Simpson rebounded with a three-birdie back nine to shoot even par in round two action.
Senior Will McFadden was steady again for the Trojans in the Bahamas on Saturday. After shooting a 73 in round one yesterday, McFadden shot an identical score the following outing. He rebounded after a plus-four front nine with a minus-three back half to finish one over for the day.
Jake Springer matched McFadden's overall score through two rounds and sits with a 146 after 36 holes. Springer Was even par through the Ocean Club's first nine holes before slipping on the back half, netting a plus three on the back nine.
