TROY, Ala. – It's a battle atop the Sun Belt West this weekend from Trojan Arena as Troy welcomes interstate rival South Alabama for a pair of matches Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. with both teams tied in the standings at 8-2 in conference games and 14-8 overall.
"We are looking forward to a tremendously competitive weekend," head coach Josh Lauer said. "Our team has worked hard to make these last few weeks very meaningful with regard to the conference standings and conference tournament seeding. How we compete and what we learn these next three weeks will be vital to our preparation for the conference tournament. To top it all off, we get to celebrate our seniors who have forever changed the course of Troy Volleyball. I encourage all our Troy volleyball family to be in Trojan Arena this weekend to celebrate our seniors and give us that home-court advantage.
It's Troy's last home weekend of the regular season, with senior day taking place before Saturday's match. The Trojans will honor five seniors: Ashley Guenveur, Isabella Mitchell, Jessica LoPresti, Halston Hillier, and Amara Anderson.
This will be the 59th time these two programs have met, with the visitors holding a slight advantage in the overall record as Troy is 28-30 all-time against the Jaguars. However, the Trojans protect their home court as they are 14-12 and looking for their first win against South Alabama since 2020.
