Volleyball Begins Sun Belt Tournament Against Marshall

TROY, Ala. – Troy Volleyball is set for the 2025 Sun Belt Championship, taking on Marshall on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. inside the Foley Events Center. Troy earned the No. 4 seed in the West division following two wins against Southern Miss from Nov. 7-8. Marshall begins postseason play as the No. 5 seed in the East division.
Troy enters the tournament playing its best volleyball of the season, winning four of its last five matches, including a four-match winning streak. The Trojans split the series last weekend against App State in the final two regular-season contests. In Friday night's five-set victory, Troy recorded 17 aces—a new program record. Amiah Butler added 26 kills, another standout performance for the senior, who was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team on Wednesday.
Marshall enters tournament play with a 7-9 conference record, most recently dropping two matches to Southern Miss. Troy holds a 5-0 all-time record against the Thundering Herd.

Amiah Butler earned the first Sun Belt end of season Sun Belt award of her career on Wednesday, being named to the All-Sun Belt First Team. Butler has dominated this year, finishing the regular season second in the Sun Belt in kills per set at 4.60. The Pensacola, Fla., native's 3.60 kills per set mark for her career ranks third all-time in Troy history, and she is currently in seventh place in kills.
