Troy Men’s Tennis Wraps Successful Weekend at ITA Southern Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team wrapped up a successful weekend at the ITA Southern Regional on Sunday at the University of Alabama Tennis Courts. Carles Anton and Francisco Erramuspe picked up consolation wins over opponents from LSU and Tulane to close out the event for the Trojans.

Erramuspe, who picked up a pair of wins on the weekend, knocked off LSU's Will Cubitt. Erramuspe was up a set and a point in the second set when Cubitt retired. Anton took down Tulane's Luka Petrovic after battling back to win the final two sets, including a 10-5 win in the super tiebreaker.

Freshman Mario Martinez Serrano was the story of the weekend for the Trojans winning three times and battling the nation's eighth-ranked player in a three-hour, three set thriller in the round of 32 – the match was Martinez Serrano's fourth in three days, while it was the first of the tournament for Auburn's Tyler Stuce.

The Trojans are back at it this weekend for the ITF Tallahassee M15 Futures.
