Troy Adds Former Liberty Outfielder Blake Gibson

TROY, Ala. – The Troy Softball team and head coach Beth Mullins announced the addition of former Liberty outfielder Blake Gibson Wednesday afternoon.

"We are really excited to welcome Blake into the Troy Softball family," head coach Beth Mullins said. "She is a talented athlete that is going to be a great fit in our program's culture!"

The Dothan, Ala. native returns home to the Wiregrass after making a trip to the Knoxville Regional Finals with the Flames.

Gibson started 58 games in her two seasons with Liberty. Last season, the lefty batted at a .216 clip with six doubles, a triple and three home runs. Gibson also added 13 walks and a pair of stolen bases.

Prior to her time at Liberty, Gibson spent four years at Rehobeth Hugh School, where she was a four-time all-conference selection and three-time all-state selection. The speedster was also named the 2018 North/South All-Star Game MVP and a Super 12 honoree.

Gibson will join Brookelyn Cannon, Aayanah Hughes, Crystal Maze, Taylor McKinney and Emma Grace Walker in the class of 2021.
