Trojans Close Out Regular Season at Maroon & White Invite

TROY, Ala. – The Troy track and field program closes out its regular season at the Maroon & White Invite in Starkville, Miss. hosted by Mississippi State.
The two-day meet gets underway Friday afternoon with the women's hammer throw beginning at noon. The meet includes competitors from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas State, Memphis, UAB, Little Rock and Southern Miss.
Other events from day one includes the 200m, 5000m, high jump, discus and long jump.
Saturday's action is set to begin at 11 a.m. with the pole vault and shot put. Running events from day two get under way at 1 p.m. with the 4x100m relay and will conclude with the 4x400m relay at 4:30 p.m.
Last time out, Gemma Finch led the Trojans to a pair of second place finishes in the 800m and on the Trojans 4X400 relay team at the War Eagle Invitational, re-establishing her school-record and career-best time in the 800m.
Julian Martin-Rogers finished sixth in the 110m hurdles, Jordan Mereus placed sixth in the 400m hurdles and high jumper Titus Sizemore finishing sixth in the event. Highlights from the women's side included Jasmine Riley recording a pair of top-10 finishes in the 100m (8th) and the 200m (9th), Kasia Cooper finishing eighth in the 400m and Maja Kuessner finishing fifth in the women's high jump.
The meet will be Troy's final tune-up before the Sun Belt Conference Tournament (May 13-15) hosted by South Alabama.
