Men's Tennis Returns Home for Two Matches; Will honor seniors Saturday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team will be back at home for the first time since early March when it hosts Georgia Southern and Georgia State in Sun Belt Conference play. Friday's match against the Eagles is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. while Saturday's match versus the Panthers is set for a 2 p.m. start. Troy will honor its seniors before the start of Saturday's match.

Troy enters the second weekend of Sun Belt Conference play with a 17-2 overall record and a 1-1 record inside the Sun Belt. In the opening weekend of conference play the Trojans fell to South Alabama before rebounding to defeat Louisiana in the final match of the weekend.

Georgia Southern currently sits at 10-5 on the year and 2-0 in conference play while riding a three-match winning streak. The Panthers enter the weekend with a 10-5 record and a 2-0 conference record. Georgia State will open the weekend against South Alabama on Friday with the match taking place in Troy.

In the last seven matches, Troy owns a 5-2 record against Georgia Southern. The Eagles won the last matchup back in 2019 while Troy had won the previous three. Georgia State owns a 9-1 record in the series over the last 10 meetings. Troy's lone victory came back in 2015 when Troy earned a 4-3 win in Atlanta.

Following this home matchup this weekend, Troy will be on the road for one match in Conway, S.C. against Coastal Carolina next Sunday before closing out the regular season at home on April 18 against UAB.
