Troy Welcomes Georgia Southern

TROY, Ala. – After pair of cancelations, the Troy Softball team finally returns to action for a three-game conference series against Georgia Southern. Friday's first pitch is set for 5 p.m. before the Trojans close out the series with a Saturday doubleheader at the Troy Softball Complex.

The red-hot Trojans (22-6, 6-0 Sun Belt) are coming off back-to-back conference sweeps (UTA and Georgia State) for the first time since 2005.

On the season, senior Katie Webb leads the Trojans offensively, batting a .375 clip with eight doubles, two home runs and 21 RBIs.

Leanna Johnson (12-3) leads Troy's pitching staff posting a 1.33 ERA with 157 strikeouts over 94.2 innings of actions. The sophomore ranks third nationally in both strikeouts and victories.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES:
Georgia Southern (7-14, 0-5 Sun Belt) heads to the Troy Softball Complex after falling in all three games to No. 16 Louisiana last weekend.

Bailee Wilson leads the Eagles' offense batting a .412 clip with six doubles, a triple, a home run and 10 RBIs.

A trio of righties power the Georgia Southern pitching staff. Kyleigh Richardson, Aaliyah Garcia and Rylee Waldrep have all seen over 30 innings of action in the circle. Garcia leads the way in strikeouts with 25 while Richardson has pinned opponents to a team-best .286 batting average.
