Men's Tennis Opens Conference Play in Mobile

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team will open its Sun Belt Conference schedule this weekend when it travels to Mobile to take on South Alabama and Louisiana. The Trojans will take on South Alabama at 2 p.m. on Friday and Louisiana at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Troy enters conference play with the best record amongst Sun Belt teams with its 16-1 record while also enjoying a league best 10 match winning streak. This will be the first time since Feb. 25-26 that the Trojans will play a match on back-to-back days. Last time they did it they traveled from Florence, Ala. to Chattanooga, Tenn.
South Alabama currently sits at 4-6 on the year and riding a three-match losing streak. The Jaguars are 2-2 in home matches this season with its last win coming at home when they defeated North Florida 4-3 back on Feb. 28.
Troy and South Alabama have two common opponents so far this season in North Florida and Samford. Troy fell to UNF 1-6 but defeated Samford 4-3, while South Alabama defeated Samford 5-2.
Louisiana enters the weekend with a 9-8 record while riding a two-match winning streak. Louisiana has won eight of its last nine games this season. Louisiana will play its first match of the weekend on Saturday before playing South on Sunday. The Trojans and Ragin Cajuns have no common opponents so far this season.
Following its weekend on the road, Troy will be back home for two matches on April 2-3 when they host Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
