Trojans Travel to Montgomery for Road Tilt Against Alabama State

TROY, Ala. – Troy hits the road for the first time in seven games for a matchup with Alabama State in Montgomery Wednesday at Riverwalk Stadium. First pitch between the Trojans and Hornets is set for 6 p.m.

Troy is coming off a 2-1 series victory against a hot-hitting Georgia Southern team over the weekend. The Trojans have scored 19 runs in their last two games and have tallied a run in nine of their last 16 innings.
Logan Cerny earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after going 7-for-11 (.636) at the plate with a double, triple and two home runs. In Sunday's rubber match, the center fielder recorded his second multi-homer game of the year and became the first Trojan to homer in consecutive at-bats since April 2019.
Drew Frederic is one of the hottest hitters in the league and is riding a 28-game reached-base streak dating back to 2020, tied for the best stretch of his career. The shortstop is also riding a career-long 12 game hitting streak.
Jesse Hall has impressed since entering the lineup at third base, making several outstanding defensive plays. The junior is hitting .357 on the year with three RBIs. Clay Stearns, who has primarily been seeing action as the designated hitter recently, is averaging .375 at the plate with three doubles, a triple and three home runs on the year.
Kyle Gamble is projected to earn his third start of the season on the mound for the Trojans Wednesday against the Hornets. The sophomore lefty has struck out 10 batters, compared to walking just three, in 10 innings this season.
Fans are invited to a pregame social will be held at the Club Car Bar, located down the right field line, beginning at 5 p.m. in advance of the game. Complimentary food and drinks will be provided for fans to enjoy while they mix and mingle with T-Roy, Director of Athletics Brent Jones, various Troy head coaches, members of the Athletics Department and the Troy University Alumni Association.
Tickets to the game itself start at $15 for reserved seats and $8 for general admission – fans will receive free entry to the pregame social upon entering the stadium. Tickets for the game may be purchased through the Biscuits Box Office and online.
