Men's Tennis wins 10th straight with victory at Nicholls Stat

THIBODAUX, La. – The Troy men's tennis teamed extend its winning streak to 10 matches on Saturday with a 7-0 road shutout victory against Nicholls State. The win improves Troy's record to 16-1 on the season while its 10-match winning streak ties its longest winning streak since 2019.
The Trojan's dominating performance on Saturday got started with a strong double's performance by the team. Troy got doubles started with a victory by Carles Anton and Amer Bedwan on court three when the duo won by a score of 6-4. The doubles point was clinched on court one by Christopher Tasker and Nicolas Simkin who earned the win with a 6-3 victory.
In singles the strong play continued with two quick wins, the first from Simkin on court five and the second from Anton on court one. With a 3-0 advantage in the contest the match was clinched by Tasker on court six with a 7-6, 6-0 victory. Troy added to its impressive day with wins by Vito Llinares on court four, Manuel Bernard on court two and Amer Bedwan on court three.
Troy will be back in action next weekend when they officially open Sun Belt Conference play. Troy will travel to Mobile where they will battle South Alabama at 2 p.m. on Friday and Louisiana at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
