Men's Tennis Falls at North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the first time this season, the Troy men's tennis team tasted defeated. The Trojans, playing in their second road match in as many days, fell to North Florida 1-6 at the UNF Tennis Complex. Troy is now 6-1 on the young season.

After the morning got started with North Florida winning the doubles point, all of Troy's attention turned to singles where they would need to win four of the six singles matches to extend its winning streak.

After falling on five and three, giving UNF a 3-0 lead, Troy picked up what would be its only point of the day. Carles Anton, on two, battled to a close 7-5 victory in set one before using the momentum for an easy 6-2 victory in the final set. The win was Anton's fifth of the season and fourth at the No. 2 spot. The match would ultimately go to the Osprey after earning the clinching point on court one.

Troy will have two home matches this upcoming week. The Trojans will host UAB on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. and Alabama State on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m.
