Men's Tennis Returns Home To Face Alabama State

TROY, Ala. – After nearly a week off, the Troy men's tennis team (6-1) will be back in the friendly confines of the Lunsford Tennis Complex when they host Alabama State on Sunday. The Trojans and Hornets are set for a 1 p.m. showdown.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools since March 15, 2015. Troy was victorious in that match, defeating Alabama State 4-0. Troy enters the match with a 6-1 record. The Trojans opened the year with six straight victories before falling to North Florida on the road last week.

Alabama State enters Sunday with a record of 2-2. The Hornets opened the year with back-to-back wins over Point University and North Alabama before dropping consecutive matches to Mercer and Samford. In their last two outings, ASU has only scored one combined point.

Trojan Notables
• Carles Anton remains perfect in singles this season with a 5-0 record. Four of those wins have come at the No. 2 spot
• The pair of Vito Llinares and Amer Bedwan have combined to go 4-0 so far in doubles. Three of those wins are at No. 3 doubles
• Bedwan and Vito are currently tied for the team lead in overall singles wins this year with eight
• Troy will have a packed week full of road matches this upcoming week. Troy will get the week start on Tuesday with a match at Mercer before traveling to Chattanooga on Friday and North Alabama on Saturday.
