Troy Welcomes Teams for Troy Invitational; Schedule Altered

TROY, Ala. – The Troy Softball program welcomes Western Carolina, Mercer and Austin Peay to the Troy Softball Complex this weekend for the Troy Invitational. Due to inclement weather restricting travel, the weekend schedule has been altered.

Due to inclement weather in the Tennessee area, Austin Peay (0-0) will not be traveling to Troy until Saturday causing changes to the weekend schedule.

The Trojans (4-1) will now open play tomorrow, February 19 at 1 p.m. against Western Carolina (2-2) followed by a 3:30 p.m. contest with Mercer (2-0).

Troy will return to the diamond on Saturday for a 12:30 matchup with Western Carolina before closing out the Troy Invitational against Mercer at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Trojans look to bounce back after a 3-1 loss to Liberty in Wednesday's midweek tilt.

Logan Calhoun leads the Trojans offensively batting at a .500 clip with six runs scored and three RBIs.

Leanna Johnson (2-1) stands at the helm of the Trojans' pitching staff recording a 1.65 ERA over 17 innings of work. The sophomore has fanned 29 batters over three contests.

Western Carolina comes into the Troy Softball Complex after participating in the Stinger Classic hosted by Alabama State. Western Carolina defeated Troy's in-state foes Alabama State and North Alabama but dropped a pair of contests to Tennessee Tech.
Mercer travels to Troy with a pair of wins under their belts. The Bears defeated Wesleyan in both games of a Tuesday doubleheader before seeing their Wednesday doubleheader with Florida A&M postponed.
